Significance
This article described a new type of BINOL derivative ligand that can be used catalytically in Ti(IV)-mediated diethylzinc addition reactions. The ligand features spatial expansion of BINOL chirality and coordination ability by linking a substituted phenol to each BINOL hydroxyl group. Effect of this ligand was carefully examined.
