Significance

A facile one-pot synthesis of functionalized pyrazoles from aryllithium or arylmagnesium compounds, di-tert-butylazodicarboxylate (DBAD) as hydrazine equivalent and 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds or equivalents thereof is reported affording the desired pyrazoles in good yields.
