Significance
The authors report the synthesis and photophysical properties of novel triarylboron-platinum(II) complexes. The synthesis features a ”roll-over" C-H activation step which switches the chelation mode of the platinum(II) center. The dual emission is a result of charge transfer from the mesityl groups to the boron center. The platinum(II) complex delivers the phosphorescence.
