Significance

A new protocol for the expedient ortho-fluorination of triflamide-protected benzylamines is reported. The reaction proceeds in very high yields using the new fluorinating reagent N-fluoro-2,4,6-trimethylpyridinium triflate and palladium triflate dihydrate as catalysts.
