Abstract
A regioselective hydrogenation of α,β-unsaturated ketones and alkylidene malonic diesters using Hantzsch ester as the reducing agent and titanium tetrachloride as a catalyst is described. The short reaction times and mild reaction conditions are the advantages of this method.
