Significance
A copper-containing [Cu2(BTC)3] (A, BTC = 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylate) or a gold-containing metal-organic framework IRMOF-3-SI-Au (B) catalyzed the cyclopropanation of alkenes 1 with diazo compounds 2 to give the corresponding cyclopropanes 3 in up to 99% yield with up to 100% diastereoselectivity. These catalysts were recycled without loss of their catalytic activity (A: 2nd reuse for the formation of 3e, 94% yield, 50% de; B: 3rd reuse for the formation of 3i, 55% yield, 15% de).
