Significance

(+)-Chaetocin A is a dimeric epipolythiodiketopiperazine alkaloid and one previous synthesis has been published (M. Sodeoka and co-workers J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2010, 132, 4078). Similar natural products with 3/4 sulfide bridges were also accessed from common intermediate G.
