Significance
The authors report an iron-catalyzed stereospecific C-H bond activation on cyclic or acyclic olefins possessing a directing group such as pyridine or a ketimine. The reaction proceeds very fast under mild conditions, requires only catalytic amounts (10 mol%) of the inorganic iron complex, and affords selectively the syn-arylated products.
