Significance

The authors report a simple one-pot synthesis of various functionalized arylboronic acids via electrophilic borylation of Grignard reagents, which are prepared either by direct magnesium insertion in the presence of LiCl or by a bro-mine-magnesium exchange using i-PrMgCl˙LiCl.
