Significance

Periodic mesoporous organosilica (PMO) supported oxo-vanadium complex 2 was prepared by treatment of PMO-supported Schiff base 1 with VOSO4 (eq. 1). The vanadium complex 2 catalyzed the oxidation of alcohols, diols, and α-hydroxy ketones with TBHP to give the corresponding carbonyl compounds in 75-96% yield (15 examples, eqs. 2-4).
