Reduction of Nitro Compounds with N2H4˙H2O Using Fe3O4 Nanoparticles

Significance
Commercially available Fe3O4 nanoparticles catalyzed the reduction of nitro compounds 1 with hydrazine hydrate to give the corresponding amines 2 in up to 99% yield (14 examples). The catalyst was recovered magnetically and reused nine times without loss of its catalytic activity for the formation of 2a (1st reuse: 99% yield, 9th reuse: 99% yield).
