Significance
An amphiphilic polystyrene-poly(ethylene glycol) resin-supported di(tert-butyl)phosphine-Pd complex was prepared and found to promote the C-N and C-S coupling reactions in water. Thus, complex 1-Pd was prepared from ligand 1 and Pd according to the reported procedures (Chem. Commun. 2010, 46, 1103; Chem. Asian J. 2010, 5, 1788). The amination of PhBr (2a) with HNPh2 (3) was carried out in aqueous KOH in the presence of 1-Pd (5 mol% Pd) to give triphenylamine (4) in 92% yield.
