Evidence-based Public Health in der Infektionsprävention

Kernaussagen

• Ansätze und Methoden der Evidenzbasierten Medizin (EBM) gewinnen im Sinne des Konzeptes „Evidence-based Public Health“ zunehmend an Bedeutung bei der Kontrolle und Prävention von Infektionskrankheiten.

• Analog zur klinischen Medizin sollten auch im Public-Health-Bereich unter Verwendung einer transparenten, evidenzbasierten Methodik Empfehlungen entwickelt werden, z. B. zu Impfungen.

• Die GRADE-Methodik stellt einen solchen Ansatz dar, der insbesondere für Fragen der Effektivität und Sicherheit von Maßnahmen auch im Bereich Public Health bereits erfolgreich angewandt wird, z. B. in Deutschland durch die Ständige Impfkommission.

• Künftige Herausforderungen auf dem Gebiet der EBPH betreffen z. B. die Integration anderer Evidenzformen (z. B. qualitativer Studien) und die Standardisierung und Formalisierung von Entscheidungsprozessen, um auch hier ein Höchstmaß an Wissenschaftlichkeit und Transparenz zu gewährleisten.
