Zusammenfassung

Gegenstand und Ziel: Darstellung der Diagnostik und Therapieoptionen eines konjunktivalen Mastzelltumors. Material und Methoden: Fallbericht einer sechs Jahre alten Golden-Retriever-Hündin. Ergebnisse: Mittels Aspirationszytologie wurde ein Mastzelltumor im Bereich der Konjunktiva und der seitlichen Brustwand diagnostiziert. Im Anschluss erfolgte eine exzisionelle Biopsie des Tumors der Konjunktiva und eine Exstirpation des Mastzelltumors der seitlichen Brustwand. Der klinische Verlauf wurde über einen Zeitraum von zwei Jahren kontrolliert. Schlussfolgerung: Mit dem chirurgischen Vorgehen konnte bei einem konjunktivalen Mastzelltumor eine partielle Remission mit zufrieden stellendem klinischem Verlauf erreicht werden. Klinische Relevanz: Die Aspirationszytologie bei Mastzelltumoren stellt einen wichtigen Bestandteil der onkologischen Untersuchung dar, um eine gezielte Therapieplanung durchzuführen. Für die Behandlung von Mastzelltumoren stehen mit Chirurgie, Strahlentherapie und Chemotherapie verschiedene Behandlungsoptionen zur Verfügung, die individuell für jeden Patienten eingesetzt werden können.

Summary

Objective: Presentation of the diagnostics and treatment options of a conjunctival mast cell tumor. Procedure: Case report of a six-year-old female Golden Retriever. Results: A mast cell tumor in the area of the conjunctiva and the lateral thoracic wall was diagnosed based on aspiration cytology. This was followed by an excisional biopsy of the tumor of the conjunctiva and exstirpation of the mast cell tumor on the lateral thoracic wall. Clinical follow-up was performed for two years. Conclusion: Surgical treatment achieved a partial remission in this conjunctival mast cell tumor with a satisfactory clinical course. Clinical relevance: Aspiration cytology of mast cell tumors is an important component of the oncologic examination to facilitate a targeted treatment plan. Surgery, radiation therapy and chemotherapy are different treatment options available for the therapy of mast cell tumors which can be employed individually for each patient.
