Pria Anand, MD, and Joshua P. Klein, MD, PhD

The Guest Editors of this issue of Seminars in Neurology are Drs. Pria Anand and Joshua P. Klein.

Dr. Anand is Assistant Professor of Neurology at Boston Medical Center/Boston University School of Medicine (BUSM). She attended Yale University for her undergraduate work, graduating cum laude with distinction in Cognitive Science. She subsequently received her MD from Stanford University School of Medicine, followed by Residency in Neurology at Johns Hopkins Hospital and Fellowship in Infectious, Inflammatory and Advanced General Neurology at the Massachusetts General Hospital. She joined the Faculty at BUSM in 2019, and had an immediate impact on our department, receiving the Attending of the Year/Teacher of the Year from the residency in her first year. She has received numerous other accolades, including the 2020 New Faculty Clinical Excellence Award, AAN Cheryl Jay Neuro-infectious Diseases Research Award, and the AAN's Fellows Scholarship, just to name a few. She serves at Chief of the Division of Hospitalist Neurology at Boston Medical Center, and Course Director for the General Neurology Case Conference. She has been a prolific contributor to the fields of neuroimmunology and neuro-infectious disease, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, where she has been a true leader in the field. She is a gifted clinician, educator and clinical researcher, and a clear rising star in Neurology!

Dr. Klein is a specialist in hospital neurology and diagnostic neuroimaging. He is from New York and graduated with honors from the University of Pennsylvania (BA) and the Medical Scientist Training Program (MD/PhD) at Yale University School of Medicine. He is a 2009 graduate of the Harvard (BWH/MGH) Neurology Residency Program, where he served as chief resident in his final year. He then completed a fellowship in diagnostic neuroimaging at BWH and is board certified in both Neurology and Neuroimaging. He is currently Associate Professor of Neurology and Radiology at Harvard Medical School, and Vice Chair for Clinical Affairs and the founding Chief of the Division of Hospital Neurology at BWH. Dr. Klein's Division is the first academic neurohospitalist service among HMS's affiliated hospitals, and one of only a few nationwide. Dr. Klein is a long-time member of the Board of Directors of the Neurohospitalist Society and the American Society of Neuroimaging. He is Editor-in-Chief of The Neurohospitalist journal and Associate Editor for Neuroimaging for the AAN's Continuum journal. He has served as Vice Chair and then Chair of both the Neurohospitalist and Neuroimaging Sections of the AAN. At BWH, Dr. Klein has served as Clinical Service Director for inpatient neurology, Chair of the Neurology Finance Committee, and Director of Performance Improvement for Neurology. Dr. Klein was selected as BWH/MGH Neurology Faculty Teacher of the Year in 2012 and as a Distinguished Clinician at BWH in 2017. He is a Fellow of the American Neurological Association (FANA), the American Society of Neuroimaging (FASN), and the American Academy of Neurology (FAAN). Dr. Klein has led and contributed to research efforts across many areas of clinical neurology including neuroinflammatory disease, traumatic brain injury, and neurotoxicity related to cancer therapy. He has published over seventy journal articles as well as chapters in major textbooks of neurology, hospital medicine, neurosurgery, psychiatry, and neuropsychiatry. With Allan H. Ropper and Martin A. Samuels he co-edited the 10^th and 11^th editions of the textbook “Adams and Victor's Principles of Neurology” and is co-editing the forthcoming 12^th edition. He has had the honor of guest editing two prior issues of Seminars in Neurology (“Diagnostic Neuroimaging” in 2012, and “Neuroimaging” in 2017). He is a frequent invited lecturer at national and international conferences and an enthusiastic consultant to neurology departments at major academic medical centers around the U.S. who are interested in developing and sustaining successful academic neurohospitalist programs.

We greatly appreciate the efforts of Drs. Anand and Klein, as well as all of the contributing authors, for their superb work in this first-of-its-kind issue in Seminars on Inpatient Consultations, which is certain to be a highly utilized issue for practitioners world-wide.
