Significance
Catalytic enantioselective methods for enolate alkylations have not been widely explored as of yet. This communication demonstrates an effective method for introducing an acetal functionality with high enantioselectivity. A wide variety of α-substituents are tolerated, with no detrimental effect towards enantioselectivity.
