Significance

Combination of [Ir(cod)Cl]2 and phosphoramidite 1 is shown to be a very effective catalytic system for enantio- and regioselective allylic alkylation. The advantage of the methodology described here is the use of readily available starting material, mild conditions to yield branched products exclusively.
