Significance

An efficient copper-catalyzed asymmetric 1,6-conjugate addition of Grignard reagents to linear δ-substituted 2,4-dienoates is reported. Valuable multifunctional intermediates are obtained with excellent regioselectivities (up to 99:1) and high enantioselectivities (up to 97% ee).
