Significance

Cu(I)-zeolites catalyze the Huisgen [3+2] cycloaddition of alkynes 1 and azides 2. Thus, the [3+2] cycloaddition of terminal alkynes 1 with azides 2 was carried out in the presence of Cu(I)-USY to give the corresponding 1,4-disubstituted 1,2,3-triazoles 3 in 0-94% yield. The catalyst was recycled three times without significant loss of catalytic activity.
