Gram-scale Synthesis of (±)-Tylophorine

Herein, we report a practical scalable synthesis of a natural product (±)-tylophorine using an operationally simple, protecting group free synthetic route from readily accessible starting materials. Synthesis of cyclic N-acetyl diester compound through cyclization, followed by two key steps decarboxylation and Clemmensen reduction to access the target molecule.
