I want to thank Dr. David Khechoyan for serving as guest editor for this issue of Seminars in Plastic Surgery on orthognathic surgery. We also appreciate the efforts made by each outstanding author for sharing with us their knowledge and expertise.

Dr. Khechoyan is currently an Assistant Professor in the Division of Plastic Surgery in the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children's Hospital in Houston. Dr. Khechoyan specializes in pediatric craniomaxillofacial surgery.

He is a graduate of the University of Washington, School of Medicine, Seattle, Washington, where he was inducted as member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Dr. Khechoyan trained in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Washington, Department of Surgery. He completed a fellowship in Pediatric Plastic and Craniomaxillofacial Surgery at The Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, Ontario.

Dr. Khechoyan's primary practice focus is on all aspects of care for patients with cleft lip and palate from birth to young adulthood. He has a specific interest and expertise in cleft orthognathic surgery, craniosynostosis, and treatment of various craniomaxillofacial anomalies.

Dr. Khechoyan's primary research focus is on examining surgical outcomes in craniosynostosis reconstruction. He is a younger voice in the field of Pediatric Plastic and Craniomaxillofacial Surgery. He remains active in research at Texas Children's Hospital, and along with his partners, oversees one of the busiest cleft and craniofacial clinics in the United States.
