Pauson-Khand reactions of [2.2]paracyclophane-1,9-diene (2) and [2.2]paracyclophan-1-ene (3) with various acetylenes and octacarbonyldicobalt lead to monocyclopentenone anellated derivatives 5/6 and biscyclopentenone anellated derivative synanti-7 which can be converted to cyclopentadiene anellated systems 10/11 and 13. Their deprotonation with methyllithium yields cyclopentadienyl anions, orthogonally attached to the bridges of the [2.2]paracyclophane skeleton, which can serve as ligands in ferrocene-type complexes like 14, 15 and 16.
