Significance
PS-RuCl3 and PS-Sc(OTf)2-packed microchannel reactors were used for the multi-component Strecker reaction. Thus, MeCN solutions of aldehydes (0.4 M), amines (0.4 M), and TMSCN (0.2 M) were installed from the inlets A, B and C, respectively, with a total flow rate of 10-40 mL/min at room temperature into a borosilicate glass microchannel reactor where PS-RuCl3 or PS-Sc(OTf)2 was pre-charged. The reaction mixture was collected from the outlet D for 2.5 hours to give the corresponding α-aminonitriles in >99% yield (51 examples). The retention time of the reactions was <1 min, and the turnover number of the catalysts was >1050.
