Significance

A two-step, one-pot neopentyl­glycolborylation of aryl iodides and bromides ­catalyzed by NiCl2(dppe) and NiCl2(dppp) is reported in this manuscript. Both electron-rich and electron-deficient aryl boronates can be efficiently cross-coupled even with chlorides, tosylates and mesylates by Pd/Ni or Ni/Ni catalysis.
