Significance

The reaction of SelectfluorTM with arylboronic acids or aryl trifluoroborates can be a convenient method for the introduction of a fluorine atom in the aromatic ring. This reaction proceeds also well with potassium 1-phenylethyl ­trifluoroborates. Further studies in this direction should establish and broaden the scope of this highly useful fluorination reaction.
