Significance
Inhibition of cholesteryl ester transfer protein (CETP) leads to elevation of plasma high density lipoprotein cholesterol (”good" cholesterol) and lowering of plasma low density lipoprotein cholesterol (”bad" cholesterol) with an ensuing beneficial plasma lipid profile.
