Significance
Ravuconazole is a broad-spectrum antifungal agent with the longest half-life of all of the known azole antifungals. The synthesis depicted is noteworthy for the safe use of highly toxic, corrosive and combustible diethyl dithiophosphate (M) and the safe generation of LiCN in situ from acetone cyanohydrin (K).
