Significance

The use of monofluorinated alkenes as peptide bond mimics ensures considerable ­interest in the development of novel methods for their synthesis. This work describes the stereo­selective formation of monofluorinated alkenes through an olefination reaction between fluoro­sulfoximines and nitrones.
