Significance

This group previously reported Friedel-Crafts alkylations with nitroalkenes catalyzed by bis(oxazoline) ligands; here, diphenyl­amine bis(imidazoline) ligands gave comparable, if not improved, selectivity for the same reaction. The ligands were synthesized effectively through Kelly-You’s imidazoline formation.
