Significance
The Baeyer-Villiger oxidation of cyclic ketones was promoted by the silica-supported propylsulfonic acid as a heterogeneous catalyst with 30% aqueous hydrogen peroxide in 1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoro-2-propanol to afford the corresponding lactones (8 examples, 64-100% conversion, 65-100% selectivity).
