Significance
A copper-catalyzed oxidative cross-coupling of readily available aryl- and alkenylboronic acids with (trifluoromethyl)trimethylsilane is reported. The reaction proceeds under mild conditions and tolerates a wide range of functional groups. Thus, the introduction of trifluoromethyl groups in advanced and highly functionalized compounds can be achieved at a late synthetic step.
