Copper-Catalyzed 1,4-Hydroboration of Coumarins with Pinacolborane

Significance

In this communication, the authors reported a highly enantioselective synthesis of dihydrocoumarins derivatives by copper-catalyzed asymmetric 1,4-hydroboration of coumarins with pinacolborane and subsequent reaction with electrophiles. The synthetic application was demonstrated in the formal synthesis of biologically active molecules.
