Significance
UCS1025A is an anti-proliferative agent isolated from the fermentation broth of the Acremonium sp. KY4917 fungus. The Danishefsky group reports a concise total synthesis of UCS1025A which utilizes a diastereoselective cyclization of a C 2-symmetric imide and Reformatsky-type fragment linkage as the key steps in the synthesis.
