Significance
This publication describes a new method for a molybdenum-catalyzed regiospecific hydrostannylation of allenols, together with a number of useful transformations of the resulting stannylated allyl alcohols. The scope of the stannylation reaction is quite broad, and the yields are good for all types of the used substrates. The starting allenols are available in one synthetic step from the corresponding terminal propargylic alcohols. The optimized methods for the synthesis of vinyl oxiranes and iodoallyl alcohols from the prepared hydroxyallyl stannanes are reported.
