Fam-Ti-Catalyzed Enantioselective Alkynylation of Aldehydes

Significance

This paper reports the development of a nice ferrocenyl-based catalyst. The authors use this catalyst for the alkynylation of aromatic, hetero­aromatic, alkyl and α,β-unsaturated aldehydes with a variety of alkynyl zincs. Moderate to very high ee values are obtained for this reaction, indicating its utility. Low concentrations of reagents as well as short reaction times also make this an attractive protocol.
