Significance
The authors reported a simple two-step sequence for the preparation of various 1,5-disubstituted oxazolones, starting from 1-bromoalkynes and N-substituted carbamates. The method has an advantage of simplicity and employs rather mild conditions, affording a broad range of substituted oxazolones. The products are useful intermediates in synthesis and may possess various biological activities.
