Significance
Chiral sulfoxides are recognized as very useful auxiliaries in asymmetric syntheses, but their role as ligands has not been well-established. This report showed excellent results of using the novel bis-sulfoxide ligands in rhodium-catalyzed 1,4-addition reactions, which could stimulate future development of this new ligand class.
