Significance

The authors describe a zinc-catalyzed asymmetric allylation of imine derivatives. When α-substituted allylboronates are used, a rare α-addition occurs instead of γ-addition. The products were obtained in high stereoselectivities, and post-modifications led to useful allylglycine derivatives.
