Tandem Enantioselective Conjugate Addition-Mannich Reactions

Significance

This diastereoselective synthesis provides a convenient route to chiral β-amino ketones derived from chiral N-sulfinimines. A single isomer was obtained demonstrating the potential utility of this catalytic system. Various alkylzinc reagents as well as Michael acceptors were utilized. Also described is the flexibility to generate both isomers of the amino moiety.
