Synthesis of Neopeltolide

Significance
Neopeltolide was isolated from a marine sponge related to Daedalopelta sollas and shows nM IC50 values against lung adenocarcinoma, ovarian sarcoma and murine leukemia. This synthesis relied on the concomitant tetrahydro-pyran formation (F → G) and macrocyclization (G → H) catalyzed by scandium triflate.
