Significance

(+)-Achalensolide was isolated from several plants and is a potent inhibitior of the aromatase enzyme. The present work utilizes a modified Rh-catalyzed Pauson-Khand reaction to generate the bicyclo[5.3.0]decenone motif, which is not easily accessible by standard protocols.
