Significance

Reported is the synthesis of 1,2,4-triazolium ylides through the microwave-assisted cyclization of N′,N′-disubstituted carbohydrazon-amides. The carbohydrazonamide precursors were prepared by the reaction of substituted hydrazines with imidates. Unfortunately, comparison with a conventional heating method was not reported, therefore not allowing conclusions regarding the need for the microwave procedure.
