Significance
Herein, a Pd(0)/PR3-catalyzed intermolecular arylation of β C-H bonds in a range of amide substrates is reported. This reaction provides an interesting and synthetically useful protocol for the catalytic β-arylation of carboxylic acids. Besides, it gives a useful insight into the mechanistic aspects of the development of catalytic sp³-activation methods.
