Significance
An efficient cross-coupling of various primary and secondary alkyl tosylates and mesylates with arylzinc species can be achieved using cheap and environmentally benign iron catalysis under mild conditions. This reaction tolerates many functional groups, usually compatible with organozinc chemistry, like an ester or a nitrile.
