Significance
Transition-metal-catalyzed insertion of carbenoids into C-H bonds has been pioneered by Noels (J. Chem Soc., Chem. Commun. 1981, 688) and Callot (Tetrahedron Lett. 1982, 23, 4321), and has received considerable attention in recent decades. In spite of significant advances made in this field, the authors expand the scope of the reaction significantly and utilize α-alkyl-α-diazoacetates, which are a previously challenging class of substrates.
