Significance
Activated heteroaromatic tosylates (derived from pyridines, pyrimidines, pyrazines, and quinoxalines) and phosphates undergo a smooth iron-catalyzed cross-coupling with primary and secondary alkylmagnesium halides. Functional groups such as nitriles, amides, and esters are well tolerated.
