Significance
Building upon previous work in the area of titanium-catalyzed asymmetric [3+2] cycloadditions the authors report a highly stereoselective cycloaddition of azomethine imines, generating interesting heterocyclic compounds. Azomethine imines of type 1 have enjoyed widespread use in the literature as 1,3-dipoles; however, azomethine imines of type 3 have received little attention and have not been previously utilized in asymmetric cycloadditions. The authors have expanded the scope of cycloadditions involving azomethine imines.
