Significance
The authors report the use of catecholboron enolate 1 as a regulator for radical polymerization of various vinyl ketone derivatives. The regulator brings about highly controlled polymerizations, and the polymers obtained using this method show polydispersity index (PDI) values that are significantly smaller than those obtained in the absence of 1.
