Significance
NOx-adsorbed TEMPO on porous silica beads (PSB-TEMPO/NOx) (x = 1, 2) promoted the aerobic oxidation of alcohols at room temperature. The catalyst was reused ten times for the oxidation of benzyl alcohol without significant loss of catalytic activity. In recycling experiments, NOx gas was readsorbed in PSB-TEMPO prior to reuse.
