Significance
Decursivine is an indole alkaloid isolated from the leaves of Raphidophora decursiva, a flowering plant of the Araceae family which is found in Vietnam. It displays activity against chloroquine resistant strains of malaria. Its structure is very similar to that of the safflower alkaloid serotobenine, also synthesized in this work.
